Applejack Cider Sour!
October isn’t just about pumpkin spice lattes; it’s also National Applejack Month! If you’ve never tried this classic American drink, now’s the perfect time to dive in.
Let’s raise a glass to the delicious history of applejack, which dates all the way back to the 1600s.
Applejack is a fermented cider that’s had its alcohol content boosted through a process called “jacking.” Essentially, this involves leaving barrels of cider outside to freeze overnight. The ice that forms is mostly water, so when it’s removed, you’re left with a stronger, more concentrated drink. Genius, right?
Applejack boasts a rich history and a unique flavor profile that makes it perfect for fall. Plus, it’s incredibly versatile! You can sip it neat, mix it into cocktails, or even use it in cooking.
So, let’s get to it! Here’s our fun spin on this classic American favorite—the Applejack Cider Sour.

Cinnamon (for garnish)
